Yosemite Driver for Canon LBP 2900

Hi there,

Now that Yosemite has been installed and working well, I am left with a non-functional Canon LBP2900. On Mavericks, it worked well with the patch but seems it doesn't carry across to the new OS. I have reset my printer settings and re-patched the system as per Mavericks but no joy.

Any tips? or lots of printers going into the bin!!!

Regards

Jafar

Hi

I did that and it worked but after I upgraded to 10.10.3 (14D136) on may 20th - it stopped working on my 2011 Imac. WIth the same drivers and the same patch but no upgrading Canon lpb2900 works on my boyfriend's mcbook air. WHat can I do (he dosen't let go of his machine)? I have erased all the former capt files and reinstalled the drivers and the patch. It pretends it is printing but never does and after a while it says that it took too long.

Please help me, you patient experts!

With the newest update of Yosemite to 10.10.4 the LBP Canon Printer again doesn't work ... I'm not sure, but this is getting annoying ... and canon as well doesn't have any link supporting Yosemite ...

Anyone has an idea ?

Hey Vaiidya,

Yup, I've solved the problem.

1. Delete your printer in Printers and scanners preferences anduninstall all the drivers what you have for LBP2900.

2. Restart computer.

3. Download and install the following driver (version 3.67 has just been released for Yosemite): http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html

4. Restart computer.

5. That's all...

I was confused when I saw my printer it's working perfectly ... but that's it ...

Good Luck 🙂

I am not terribly tech savvy and my IT assistants here are all unfamiliar with Macs. I have a MacBook Pro OSX 10.10.5 and a Canon LBP 2900. I have followed the above links and downloaded and installed as instructed, but the driver software can't be found. All I can see is a .dmg file of some 42MB. Perhaps I didn't uninstall something? How to do that? Or is there another patch required? I did delete the printer and restart each time as directed. Am running out of ideas and would welcome help. Many thanks!
