missing folder icons

Hello, i've just upgraded to Yosemite

But i have the issues that some of the folder icons are missing 😟

I've tried rebooting, verify disk via Disk Utility still not helped

Is there anyway to solved it without doing a fresh install?

Thank You.

Unfortunately your image does not show up. But maybe i can help anyway. I am a new owner of a macbook pro 15'' and i installed Yosemite (clean install, wiped mavericks completely before).

I found it strange that finder did not show any icons at all. Even the application icons were some kind of hidden. What solved the issue on my system was the following:

Open finder and go to preferences. In general i enabled the option to start finder with my home user (your username). Go to "sidebar" and enable home (your username), pictures, movies and music. After restarting the system all my icons were back.

Please let me know if this also works for you.

Greetings,

Tumas04

Edit: i saw your picture and it seems to be a different issue. So my "fix" probably will not work.

Thank You for the reply Tumas04

I've uploaded again the images, hopefully it will show up.

Unfortunately i've enabled the option to start finder with home user but still no luck. 😟

In my case, only some of the folder icons missing and some of them are just fine, but if i create a new folder, it just blank too.

I've tried using another User and the folder icon works just fine, even when i create a new folder.

  1. Open a Finder window and select “Go to Folder” in the Go menu.
  2. Type in ~/Library/Caches and hit enter to proceed to this folder.
  3. Optional step: You can highlight and copy everything to a different folder just in case something goes wrong.
  4. Highlight everything and press Command-Backspace.
  5. Restart your machine so that your apps and system can generate new, fresh caches.

does it works for u???
