sleep wake problem with Yosemite on my Mac Mini Mid 2012

I have a problem with Sleep Wake on a Mac Mid 2012 Mac Mini running 10.10, I was also a beta test user, and had seen the same problem before the official release. After the Mac Mini goes to sleep, and you try to wake it, it sits frozen, you can not enter your password, after about 5 minutes, the Mac reboots, and you can enter your password, the keyboard works again. I am using the Apple bluetooth MC184LL/A wireless keyboard. This same problem is occurring with the Logitech K760 bluetooth solar keyboard. I am now going to try only a standard USB keyboard, to see if the problem is somehow related to bluetooth? I been sending the reports to Apple about this problem since I started the beta testing from the start of the Yosemite beta test. It seems this is low on the list or is somehow related to my machine only? I have never had any problems with my Mac Mini, and have never done anything to the device (I never opened the Mac).

Any one else with the same problem? Thanks!

I have this exact same problem with my Mac Mini 2012. After waking from sleep, the screen remains frozen. I can move the mouse around, but cannot click on anything.

I've the exact same problem with my Macbook Retina 2012 connected to an external Asus Monitor (PB278Q). Screen would turn on but can't click anything and neither can type anything.

Exactly the same issue under 10.10. 2012 Mac Mini i7 4 gigs ram, Logitech keyboard and mouse with apple trackpad. Asus monitor. Two drives, ssd and hdd. No issues under 10.9. Sleep turned off till solution found. Dissapointing.

Same problem with a Mac Mini i7 system, 16GB RAM (late 2012). Ran flawlessly with Mavericks but now is frozen whenever it wakes from sleep. If I leave it alone for several minutes it will reboot on it's own. Since installing Yosemite early yesterday, I've never gotten a usable system after waking from sleep.

I tried the method below from the Sleep Wake posting, it did not fix the problem:

I have had my Apple Support call, we used a capture data Apple Logging application to capture log data from my machine, the support tech is sending it to the engineering team to look at, so it's getting moved up to engineering for support, he said he will call me on Thursday to give me a update on what they find from the log data. It's a ACCD**********.dmg file.

The tech told me to disable sleep for now.

This solved my question by Darkkz on Oct 18, 2014 9:59 AM

Press command+shift+c - > Macintosh HD - > Library - > Preferences -> Drag SystemConfiguration on desktop, it's going to make a copy of it (May ask for password, then delete it from the Preferences (which is the initial folder). Shut down, then do a PRAM Reset. If you don't know how to do that :

After you shut down the computer, locate the option, command, P and R from your keyboard. Press the power button to turn it on and quickly press all four buttons before hearing the first 'power up sound'. Keep them pressend until you hear a second 'power up sound'.

That's how i solved mine (i have to SPECIFY that i solved that on MAVERICKS). Hope it works with Yosemite.

Let me know if you fix it.

Same issue, will follow this thread for a fix. For those less technical, wanting to avoid reboot their mac every morning, you can change energy setting "Computer sleep: Never" and this, for me, stops the computer sleeping and the bug occurring. Getting quite frustrated with the number of Mac bugs in releases.

FWIW I had this problem in Mavericks too - with the last Mav. upgrade. I still have it in Yosemite. I'd welcome a fix. For now I've resorted to setting the computer to "never sleep" and to shutting it down instead of just sleeping it.

I have exactly the same problem. Cannot type password after Waking up from Sleep. Only way out is forced reboot. After that the unit starts in Safe mode ( bar scrolling at the bottom of Apple logo).

Will phone Apple tonight and if they solve it I'll list the fix here.

Will follow this thread in the hope someone gets there faster...

What a c..k up by Apple !..Samsung must be really happy reading this..
