Why can Apple make NTFS writable?

Is there any particular reason APPLE doesn't give OSX the ability to write to NTFS partitions??

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi joe259;

Because Microsoft refuses to release how to write to NTFS. If you want to have this Microsoft is where you should be complaining now here.

Basically everytime anyone reverse engineers how to write to NTFS, Microsoft changes the ground rules so that there hack no longer works.

Maybe Apple should stop worrying about there Ipod and Microsoft can stop worrying about NTFS and the world would be a better place.. Thanks for the answer.. all I can same is LAME.

Hi joe259;

If you are aiming that LAME at M$, I'll agree with you. If not, then I will not.

I don't really see that being able to write to NTFS is that big of deal for Apple. From their point of view why bother with it.
