I'm running iTunes 12 on Windows 7.
I've tried updating the information for several .mp4 movies saved to my local hard drive. What's annoying is that any movie added to iTunes will be automatically labeled as a "Home Video". When I change the tag to "Movie", it would be instantaneous in iTunes 11 and prior. Now it takes several minute to update a single movie's tag.
Please help...
I also noticed that new video content is loaded into iTunes 12 as Home Video. I did CMD-I > Options and changed the media kind to Movie. In my case, the change was instantaneous (just as you describe in iTunes 11)). I was not able to replicate your experience. I do not doubt your problem, but it does not seem to affect everyone. Maybe someone else has a thought on this ?
