Bluetooth speaker not working in Yosemite

After I've upgraded my OS to Yosemite last night and my Bose Link III bluetooth speaker no longer works with my Macbook Pro. I've checked the Bluetooth setting and it is connected but the audio only come out of my laptop speakers and not the Bose speaker.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

I figured it out. I have to go into Sound, Output tab and pick Bose from there.

I'm having a similar problem with a Photive bluetooth speaker. It works if I use the solution that LCMan also found. However if I start watching a movie or any kind of video clip online it starts delaying the sound and it progressively gets worse and worse. I've tried deleting the bluetooth speaker and pairing again but the problem prevails. It all started happening after updating to Yosemite and from what I can see online several people have bluetooth issues using Yosemite. Anyone has a suggestions with a fix? APPLE?!

I got the Jambox working with Bluetooth by hard resetting the Jambox and then rediscovering it in the Bluetooth preferences on the Mac, but it's doing what yours is doing -- the sound is totally out of sync with the screen. I see on developer forums from years ago that Yosemite didn't work with Bluetooth. Here it is years later and they went ahead and released it and it still doesn't work. Where is Apple on this???
