Satellite view not working in Maps

Just got my iPhone 6 plus yesterday, but satellite view does not work in Maps. Oddly, there are several Chinese characters on the bottom right corner of the map screen, and on the bottom of the menu, it says "Data from AutoNavi, others" whereas on my wife's phone (which is working fine), it reads "Data from TOMTOM, others". Tried power cycle, hard reset, but not sure what to do next. The region in Setting is set to United States, as I live in New Jersey. Would appreciate any help . . .

Do you have data turned on? The map requires data. Are you able to access the Internet with Safari, or other internet necessary apps? Did you restore the iPhone 6 from a backup of your older phone? Do you have location services turned on?

I do have data turned on, and other apps are working, including Safari. I did restore my new phone from a backup of my iPhone 5. Location services are on. In fact, I'm having the same problem with Find my iPhone, where the map won't show the satellite view.

The next troubleshooting step after a reset is a restore from backup, then if necessary a restore as new. I don't have an iPhone 6, but both are working on my 5S.
