Can't set up my iphone 4. No SIM card on verizon phone

Verizon iPhone 4's do not have SIM cards, or any place to put one. Do you see a SIM card slot on the side of the phone? If you do it is either not a Verizon phone or is not a 4. About the only way it would ask for a SIM card if the phone does not have a slot is if the phone had been jailbroken. That means that Apple won't help, and you can't get help in this user-to-user forum. You can try a DFU restore using iTunes. Google is your friend.

Did you fix the problem?

My device has same problem, but it has never been jailbreaked.

The device has been restored using itunes, but the problem was not fixed.

If you figured out how to fix it could you tell me how you did?

I bought my iPhone 4 new, and it has never been jailbroken. Over the last year I used it only for wireless connectivity to my stereo. It worked great until last January when it could no longer find my wireless network. After I "reset all" I encountered the same SIM card/slot problem, on the iPhone as well as through iTunes.

I have spent hours talking to at least six Verizon and Apple Support techs, three times restoring the iPhone to factory settings and otherwise troubleshooting. No luck. One Tech advised me to purchase a cheap iphone 4S (which does have a SIM card slot). The last Tech gave me the grave news that my iPhone 4 might be used as a paperweight but was otherwise useless. Sad but true.

Other than searching the Apple website to find out if they ever released a fix, don't waste your time.
