Jan 4, 2015 8:49 PM in response to RossMilnerby Hotrodguru,What's the point of installing the OLD version again? Apple needs to fix this. Doesn't matter what older version you revert too, you'll still need to update it. Unless you want to roll with a OS without critical updates or fixes that are needed for a secure OS.
Everyone needs to email Apple or open a support case.

Jan 4, 2015 8:49 PM in response to mwagg123by utvols2007,I went to https://developer.apple.com/ and signed in. I have a developer account. I went to member center and then to Mac. I scrolled to Yosemite and downloaded it. There are two on that page. One is the original and one is the update. Get the original.

Jan 4, 2015 9:58 PM in response to Hotrodguruby hudson_lowboy,For those that are confused...
The 10.10.2 version isn't an "official" update, it's the Beta release of what will be the update at some point in the future. There are no critical updates or fixes inside this version of Yosemite. That was all done with the official 10.10.1 version, which is the one that myself and many others have reverted to.
If ANYONE has downloaded 10.10.2 it means you are part of the volunteer Beta test team that we all all signed up for prior to the release of Yosemite. You can opt out of receiving these Beta releases if you want. If you do consent to using the Beta version they warn you that you may experience system issue since we are all part of a team that has agreed to test an operating system that has been unused by more than a few hundred people.
We are here to expose flaws and issues with the software. This issue with the iPods is one of but a dozen I have come across until I reverted back to 10.10.1 since it was behaving too erratic. I use my computer for work and there were too many glitches for me to work effectively. I have done my duty and provided feedback in regards to these problems. Then I reinstalled the last official release from the App Store.
All we can do is wait for another Beta version to come around or an official 10.10.2 update that fixes the issue.
Hopefully sooner than later.

Jan 4, 2015 10:26 PM in response to hudson_lowboyby Hotrodguru,Thanks for breaking it down hudson. Totally forgot about me being part of the beta program and hence the reason I have .2 installed instead of .1. Anyway, didn't quit the Beta program but stopped the Beta software updates.

Jan 4, 2015 11:21 PM in response to mwagg123by hudson_lowboy,mwagg123...
If you go to the App store via the Applications folder you will be able to d/l 10.10.1.
It will not erase your data and you will not have to re-setup your Mac as new.
I'd still do a back-up just in case of a glitch. Which can always happen.
You can still be part of the Beta program but you can opt out of updates. I've still yet to be asked to install 10.10.2 since reverting back to .1 and that was 5 days ago.
