AppleWorks - not saving

AppleWorks - not saving

I am an experienced user of AppleWorks.

I have just bought a new MacBook and installed a new AppleWorks 6. (To stick with something familiar in a new environment)

Yesterday, and again today, I have worked for 2 hours on an important doc and remembered to 'save' it from time to time. But the'save' command in the file menu is not highlighted. At the end, there is no prompt "save?" and I find I have lost the whole session's work.

1) how can I retrieve it?

2 What is wrong with my set-up? (Auto-save is ticked)

3 How can I stop this happening again??

Thanks again, Yvan. No I hadn't read those. Funny that I have never met this before, or is it unique to OS X ?

If the fault is known, what is Apple doing to fix it?

Hello

I don't know but thinks to two tracks:

-1- the problem is in AW itself. The product will no longer be updated.

-2- the problem is in OS X. I'm not sure that the OS developpers are really interested by our dear coelacanth.

This problem is an AppleWorks problem. Other applications handle the same issue differently, and don't suffer from this bug.

And as Yvan noted, it's very likely that Apple will do nothing about this problem as iWork is gradually replacing it.
