Ringtones don't work iOS8
I got the most recent update and all my ringtones, including the factory pre-installed ringtones, don't work or play when called or texted.
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.0.2

If you are getting no sound when your iPhone should be ringing for an incoming call I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iPhone: No ring or sound from built-in speaker
