Nov 18, 2014 10:47 AM in response to mmmmmKayby Adrianh43,I followed the earlier Terminal advice. To the letter. And it meant a Terminal end to my Notification Center folder, now completely disappeared from Application Support. I have tried to get a Genius Bar appointment in Central London but all the Geniuses have full schedules. For the moment. Perhaps they're helping other exasperated Mac users with no-show Notifications.

Nov 18, 2014 10:58 AM in response to Adrianh43by rockeeeeeee,@Adrianh43,
Sorry to hear my back up nose pick didn't help you. Perhaps I should have given a little pick to my ****!
No change for you. I take it this is happening not just on your Mac Air but other Macs as well. Best wishes at the Apple Store.
Will watch for your update and hopefully we can have a celebratory "pick party" later.
Edit:
We posted simultaneously... that ***** that you couldn't get it rectified today.

Nov 18, 2014 11:01 AM in response to rockeeeeeeeby Adrianh43,Your nose-pick clearly did not do the job. An anus-pick is unlikely to improve matters. Unless it has a special friend in Cupertino. That Pick Party is defo on hold. Shame it's still not Rectu(m)-fied, I agree.

Unfortunately, no special friends in Cupertino.
Running out of places to pick. Laughing at your "rectu(m)-fied sentence.
Well, I'll continue on my end to see if I can help you on your end.
Pun intended.
If I find anything I'll post it here.

Nov 21, 2014 9:39 AM in response to dofromonby JLinMN,I agree with you. I'm having the same problem, but I think it's iCloud that keeps resetting the notification settings. This is horrible design, though. On my iphone, there are notifications I want to pop up, like sms, messages, FB alerts, etc. On my macbook, I do not want them popping up. (Especially, if I'm giving a presentation or sharing my screen.) There should be a way to set them independently.

Nov 21, 2014 3:06 PM in response to JLinMNby Bryan Buff,iCloud does not sync notification settings across devices. Frankly, I wish there was an option to do so. There is a bug and the fix I posted earlier in this thread works for most people (if you follow the directions carefully).
Also, if you presenting something or sharing your screen, just turn Do Not Disturb on (located above the date at the top of the notification screen in Yosemite). That will stop all notifications until you turn Do Not Disturb off.
Hope this helps.

Nov 28, 2014 7:24 AM in response to Chip Cuccioby pokey b,Since updating to Yosemite 10.10.1 (about a week ago), Notifications have been working faultlessly for me.

Feb 14, 2015 1:42 PM in response to pokey bby AxeBox360,It seems to be working for me as well. I'm glad that that nightmare is over!

Jun 16, 2015 7:31 AM in response to AxeBox360by Surge74,I have the same issue - notification preferences get saved, but after a while (a week or two) they get changed back to the defaults.
OS X 10.10.3

Jun 21, 2015 8:31 AM in response to Surge74by rockeeeeeee,A little more info would help those of us reading your question....
Have you updated to Yosemite? Your bio says you are using 10.4 so if that's accurate, you might want to update.

Jun 21, 2015 11:26 AM in response to rockeeeeeeeby pokey b,I realize you didn't ask me, just thought I'd join the conversation. After previously thinking that notifications were again working for me, they do not, at least not reliably. They may work for a day or three then they stop. They will start working again if I go in and deselect then reselect the ones I want to receive. I'm on a 21.5 inch mid-2010 run of the mill i-Mac with upgraded OWC RAM from 4 GB to 12 GB. I'm on OS 10.10.3. It'll be interesting to see if 10.10.4 is any improvement.
