Q: In the middle of start up my display flashes black white lines

Oct 19, 2014 10:21 AMby gemifromwest hills,The problem is still there...what ever upgrade the software downloaded is the problem and if I can't get it off the computer I am screwed.
I use this computer for my studio and I have clients calling.
When starting up in safe boot the end result is the same...the monitor is flickering and maybe I only get 1/4 of the view and little
to no control of my mouse and keyboard.
If I could only get to a normal screen and run disk utility that would cool.

You didn't mention this in your first post. Any idea what it was? Backups?
Besides that, this may be a fault in the video card, driver, or a screen fault.

Take a screen shot & view that in Preview, move the Preview window around, if you see double lines it's a Video card/VRAM problem, if the lines do not move moving the pic around then it's the LCD or cable.
