Oct 30, 2014 12:31 AM in response to barolo55by KAS1966,Thanks for going to the effort to find this.
Unfortunately it was too late for me. I went to use the printer as a copier on Friday and it wouldn't copy (it went through the motions but the paper came out blank) so I assume its a print head problem (it's happened previously). I couldn't see the point in paying £50 for a new print head when there was no guarantee as to when (if at all) Kodak would issue a solution.
So I bit the bullet and ordered an Epson XP-760 what arrived yesterday - I must say I'm quite impressed by it so far - and it at least Epson had already updated for Yosemite.
Shame really, as for the cost I thought the Kodak was a good bit of kit.

Oct 31, 2014 5:20 AM in response to barolo55by Purplefrog6,Thanks, did exactly as you said and my Kodak ESP 5250 now prints. I was on the verge of giving in and buying a new printer, so timing was perfect.

Oct 31, 2014 11:31 AM in response to raymondfromweymouthby londonguy99,Many thanks for the fix. My Kodak printer is now printing again, although it is at a skewed angle, even though the paper is loading squarely into the printer. Any ideas?

Nov 5, 2014 6:16 AM in response to raymondfromweymouthby yaakovchaim,I've spoken to Kodak twice and they have no timeline for a fix. So basically, unless you have another computer to use the Kodak printers, you basically have a rock. I told them that it is unacceptable as they've had months to get the drivers updated for Yosemite. I'm giving them one more week, then I'm going to buy a new printer, probably an Epson since they had their drivers updated on the day of Yosemite's release.

Nov 5, 2014 7:28 PM in response to barolo55by Laurence Kranich,Thank you barolo55, the solution worked perfectly on my Kodak ESP 5250. I don't print that often, which is why it took me a week to try this, but now I'm happy to report success. I'm not sure of the value of the increased "security" on Yosemite, but I never had a problem with Mavericks security and I doubt that I will have any problem with it now.

Nov 10, 2014 5:16 PM in response to barolo55by ronniepitman,Thanks for the answer barolo55. First time I entered the commands in Terminal nothing changed. The second time I noticed there is a space before and after >> in the first command and I restarted my Mac and the printer. The problem was fixed.

Nov 10, 2014 6:16 PM in response to raymondfromweymouthby snwwhte7,Kodak has this suggestion if using their printer. It worked for me!
Do the following steps to address the issue:
- Go to Spotlight, then enter Terminal and press Enter.
The terminal window/program opens. - Enter sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' in the terminal.
- Enter your system OS login password when prompted.
Note: The password you enter will not appear, which is normal. Be sure to enter the correct password. - Enter sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
Your screen will look similar to the following:
Last login: Mon Nov 10 16:34:57 on console
Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf'
Password:
Sorry, try again.
Password:
Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ - Try to print again.
If the issue continues, contact Kodak for further support. - http://support.en.kodak.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1695/~/all-in-one-printer-so ftware-compatibility-with-mac-os/selected/true
- Go to Spotlight, then enter Terminal and press Enter.

Nov 11, 2014 6:40 AM in response to raymondfromweymouthby Gemmac, hey guys,
I have a Kodak 5200
printing A4 is fine, but not photos since Yosemite, the only way I can do it is by copying the photos to a SD card, inserting it to the printer and printing from there.
not ideal but works
