"Update unavailable with this ID....." after Yosemite upgrade?

If you go into the App Store, check under the Purchases tab, you may have the standards apps such as iPhoto, Pages, etc. listed as waiting to be "Accepted". I think that as pre-installed before the Yosemite update the apps don't have an Apple ID associated with them, and when you accept them they become associated with your Apple ID and can then be updated. That is what worked for me, currently going though several GB of update downloads on a slow network connection.

+1 this works perfectly. You must 'accept' any software that came with a new mac before updating that software.

This worked for me but I just had to change my user to my wife's account to get to the 'accept' button

i don't have iPhoto or anything under my purchases section but its definitely the same error and its failing trying to update iphoto

I upgraded to yosemite before i did any updates or opened any programs right after turning my mac mini on for the first time after purchase

Do you have any ideas what i might be doing wrong I'm really new to macs
