Yosemite on New Mac Pro with 4k monitor is very slow sometimes stuck

for example moving windows(holding mouse) it will stuck and lags

using mission control lags and no animation

Using dell up3214q Display port 1.2

Run Etrecheck and post the results


You backed up first and made a clone of your system?

You used Recovery Mode and Disk Utility to repair the drive.

Use to be we HAD TO clear system cache and extension caches before doing any type of install or upgrade.


Maybe the report will show some possible explanation, incl. if the directory is healthy.

I have exactly the same problem with my Macbook Pro. It doesn't present itself immediately after plugging in the display, but after a while. Killing the WindowServer doesn't help, I need to reboot the machine to make it go away.


I find extremely annoying that the problem doesn't go away when unplugging the monitor.
