Yosemite iPhoto 9.6 Facebook sync Error?

I use iPhoto to manage my photos as well as my Facebook photo albums, with several of the albums on Facebook holding more than 1,000 images.

iPhoto 9.6 worked just fine in the Yosemite Beta: all of the images in the Facebook albums were visible in iPhoto.

After upgrading out of the Yosemite Beta, I restarted to ensure that there weren't any bugs left over from the update process.

After that, I opened iPhoto and synced my Facebook albums, only to watch the thumbnails rapidly disappear while the image counts in each album decreased to 25.

All the copies of the images in the Facebook section of iPhoto, save 25 photos in each album, were removed, but the photos were not removed from Facebook.

I have since disconnected iPhoto from my Facebook Account, restarted, then reconnected & synced iPhoto to Facebook. iPhoto maxes out at listing 100 images per album, and will only download / display 25 photos from each Facebook album. After downloading the 25 images, it won't sync with that album again.

Is there a setting I can change to remedy this, or is it caused by an error in the program?

Sounds like a bug.

iPhoto Menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback

That's what I was thinking as well, but I just wanted to double-check. As for the feedback, the web page that I'm pointed to after pressing Provide iPhoto Feedback doesn't have an option for iPhoto 9.6 yet, so I'll just go through the Feedback Assistant.

Help, Ive got a similar problem. Upgraded to Yosemite (wish I hadn't!!!) and my iPhoto isn't allowing me to share to my Facebook account either.

The photos are still there but the Facebook account is faded out in the Share options so it can't be selected.

Anyone know what to do?

Hi, I just rebooted and then ran iphoto while in Safe Mode. All was working fine. Uploaded the photos no problem.

Reporting a bug is okay, but if you look at all the forums there are tons of posts with issues never resolved. I have the same issue with iPhoto 9.6. When I tried to print using 9.6 it corrupted my database as well. I'm getting a bit over apple... spend some of the money they make with proper R & D...

I have exactly the same problem. All my facebook albums on Iphoto are limited to 25 photos. Happily all the photo remain on Facebook.

I reported it via feedback before any smart *** suggests to do that rather than actually help consider what the problem is and any solutions as is normally the case on this forum.

On the forum we can help with just about anything except... a bug. As for considering what the problem is, well that's pretty obvious and here is the list of solutions that have worked before in these cases:

It's now 6 months after the original post and I seem to have the same problem. If it's a bug it seems to be a pretty major one since I'm sure a large number of people link iPhoto and Facebook albums. Still no fix or did I miss something?

Yes, I hadn't noticed there was an update yet. Updating to 9.6.1 worked, thank you!

iPhoto now seems to have downloaded the rest of the photos after the first 25 from the album from Facebook instead of connecting to their original place in iPhoto. So, when looking in iPhoto in the shared Facebook section, they are missing the extra info they have in iPhoto (faces, metadata, etc.). I'm not going to worry about it too much for this particular album. I'm guessing that future albums uploaded won't have this issue, though, with the fix.
