Yosemite installed, but not recognised by iCloud Drive

I have just clean installed Yosemite 10.10 on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro.

When I try to upgrade to iCloud Drive, I get the warning, that my computer will not be able to connect to Drive until I upgrade to Yosemite.

I am out of ideas what to do.

Same thing has happened to me. I upgraded my 2013 21" iMac to Yosemite then tried to turn on iCloud Drive. It kept spinning for days so I logged out of iCloud, restarted my computer, and logged back in to iCloud. When I went to check the box it said OS X Yosemite is required and my iMac will not be able to access the documents. Anyone else having iCloud not recognize the computer?
