Cisco AnyConnect Client and "Call Using iPhone"

It seems that the new "Call Using iPhone" functionality in Yosemite does not work when one is connected to VPN via the Cisco AnyConnect Client.

For example, Call Using iPhone from FaceTime, attempts to make the call but fails. When I attempt to make a call using iPhone, I also notice that the Cisco AnyConnect connection to the VPN server disconnects and then reconnects, as if something has happened to my connection to the Internet during the attempt to Call Using iPhone.

If I am not connected to VPN via the Cisco AnyConnect client then Call Using iPhone works flawlessly, so I know that it is configured correctly on both my Mac and on my iPhone.

The version of the Cisco AnyConnect client that I am using is 3.1.05152

Has anyone else encountered the same issue? Has anyone found a way to have Call Using iPhone work while remaining connected?

The VPN server you connect to tells the VPN client whether to allow any local LAN connections. MOST corporate VPN servers force ALL networking traffic through the VPN server.

If this is your situation, then talk to your company about relaxing their restrictions (yes, I know that most company IT departments could care less about what you want, as I have worked for Fortune 500 companies for all of my internet connected life 😟).
