Oct 21, 2014 11:02 AM in response to Loic Segalou1by Toby Cockcroft,Yes the file has to be over 20mb and under 5gig to be flagged for Mail Drop. I have tried sending a video that is 120mb and don't get a Mail Drop option.

Oct 21, 2014 11:10 AM in response to Toby Cockcroftby Loic Segalou1,But when you try to send this 120mb attachement, to you see the message limit in red ? if not, you should be able to send it , and it will necessarily use the Mail Drop process. (There is no message, dialog box , alert or whatever who inform you , but if is accept this attachement larger than 35.9Go = it's using Mail Drop)

Oct 21, 2014 11:15 AM in response to Loic Segalou1by Toby Cockcroft,Yes I get the message limit in red. There should be a pop up dialog box that asks if you want to use Mail Drop, I don't get that pop up.

Oct 21, 2014 11:23 AM in response to Toby Cockcroftby Loic Segalou1,ok, so it was not the same trouble that me if you've still the message limit in red. ... Anyway I never seen pop up info to ask me if I want to activate Mail Drop so it's seems a strange behavior. I'll try to other computer (with fresh Yosemite install) and keep you inform.

Oct 21, 2014 11:47 AM in response to Toby Cockcroftby petieg,Well, i (mistakenly) tried to send a 91MB attachment from Mail using my IMAP'd gmail account -- afaik Mail Drop is using YOUR sending limit size to kick off Mail Drop. At first Mail gave me the Exclamation triangle icon as if there was a problem -- saying message is too large, but it eventually sent... Now, i had access to the receiving mailbox so i went and checked and it has an iCloud link in it! So it worked, but no prompt -- and i have the checkmark set to use Mail Drop (maybe that's why no prompt?). It wasn't pretty from my standpoint but it DID indeed work. the link began w/ this: https://ms-us-mtv-110-prod.digitalhub.com (which resolves to www.apple.com)
Interesting...

Oct 21, 2014 11:54 AM in response to petiegby Toby Cockcroft, hey petieg I did the same as you. I attached a 139mb movie to an email and sent it to another of my accounts. I didn't get a "do you want to use Mail Drop" prompt the email just sent (after some delay which I suppose was the movie uploading).
When the email arrived at my other account it had the following:
Attachment available until Nov 20, 2014
Click to Download
<https://www.icloud.com/attachment/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-std-211-prod.digitalhub .com%
So I guess it used Mail Drop because I had the option set in the advanced preferences but I never got the prompt to use Mail Drop it just worked automatically.
