Since I updated my macbook pro retina with Yosemite, my entire font library is missing. All the fonts I purchased, downloaded and installed, all gone. How can have it back?

I have the same problem - all fonts except default ones missing from my font library after installing Yosemite.
How can I get them back? Please help!
Same thing happened to me. The fonts are located in the hidden USERS FONT FOLDER BUT I CAN't USE ANY OF THEM ANYMORE. IS THERE ANY UPDATE TO THIS OR DO I HAVE TO GO BACK TO MAVERICKS?
Look in your root Library folder and find the folder named "Fonts." Anything in there? What happens when you open Font Book? Any fonts listed there?

Nothing in the Fonts folder in the Library, nothing as well in the Font Book except the default fonts that Apple gives you. It's also the case on my wife's session on the same macbook, she had a different font library than mine, but it's also gone.
And you don't use any sort of typeface manager or anything similar? Fonts are usually just found in three places - the root Library folder, the System>Library>Fonts folder and the user Library>Fonts folder. Also check to see if any of your lost fonts are in the root Library>Fonts (Disabled) folder.
Other than that, I'm just as puzzled as you - I lost none of my fonts since upgrading to Yosemite.

I'm at a loss, then. I've been running Yosemite for about four months now and have never encountered any font problems nor read of any problem like you're having. I've no idea why it happened or what could have caused it to happen. Do you have backups of your old Fonts folders? Pulling them from backups is the only way, short of installing each fonts again, that I know of to remedy the situation.

Since installing Yosemite I have a less severe problem, but it's certainly annoying. My fonts seem to be OK in Pages, but some special ones (music symbols) are missing from TextEdit and Preview. I use these to annotate pdf files in Preview, so I'm stuck. The fonts appear in the user library but not the root library. Any ideas about why?
