Yosemite Bird Process 100% CPU iCloud Drive

After performing a clean install of Yosemite (release version) on my late 13" rmbp, I noticed that a process called Bird was running at 100% CPU making the laptop warm to the touch and obviously making a huge impact on battery life. The process appears to be linked with the iCloud sync.

I moved the files I had placed in the iCloud Drive folder to the local (unsync'd) Documents folder.

I then select System Preferences > iCloud and unchecked the iCloud Drive option, and ok'd the dialog box.

Within a matter of seconds, the Bird process reduced to 0% CPU utilisation.

You can see the active processes in Activity Monitor.
