More than 2 gpu nvidia

Since Maverick Old mac pro Systems have been limited to detect only 2 nvidia GPU, with yosemite also, in my work we use multiple Gpu for image processing in expansion chasis over PCIE.

In a system i have 3 titan Black (only 2 of them are been seen by mac pro) in another system i have 3 gtx680 and a Redrocket X (only 1 of them and the RRX is seen) Neither maverick neither Yosemite. Could we expect to recover old times when we use tu see them as i do in 10.8.5?

Even a "hack" to do it work will be appreciate by all my colleagues who have same issue.

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), 2.93ghz 24gbram +Cubix 3 titan black

Just for fun Barefeats (mid-2013 or so I think) tested 2-3-4 GPU to see what could be achieved.

Running Windows on Mac Pro is also sometimes an alternative until you give up and go to native PC with power and ability to use the PCIe 3.1 slots and more 8-pin power cables.

WIndows and pc isn't an option as our main workflow is based on finalcut and applepro ress. It is a bad thing that in 10.8.5 we use to see even 4 gpu working, but maverick and yosemite has limited to 2.

with gtx680 have no problem can still use 10.8.5, but titan black have forced me to upgrade to maverick.

FinalCut is optimized for AMD graphics and shows nice kick in performance when using two.... and yes you need Mavericks for 10.1+

Hi Newokone,

I have the very same issue. Mac Pro late 2009 with a Cubix Xpander and three 680 cards to run Resolve in it. I was looking into moving up to Final Cut X but it asks for 10.10.4 and that system only handles 2 GPU´s.

Have you find any solutions yet or are we supposed to stick with 10.8.5 forever ?.
