Feeble attempts at humour aside, thanks for your efforts and perspective on this issue.
I'm sticking with a ML machine and '09 so I can get work done.
I use my newer machine ( Yosemite) as my home surfing/iphone dock station and rage daily about the transparency of Yosemite, ibook converting OS formats to proprietary formats etc.

iWork '09 works as it always has in Yosemite (& Mavericks) as long as you have updated to 9.3. You can download the standalone updater from this page.

Just hate it when they remove functionality.
Fatal error for me — I can't even think about upgrading until they add outlining back in. I have too many files that require it to be useful. It's been too long. Thinking about Word…
