pasting an image into a Gmail email?

I am new to using Safari (hoping to migrate from chrome now I have upgraded to Yosemite). I use Gmail and I want to paste an inline image into an email but it's not allowing me.. does this just not work or is there a work around ? when I copy the image and paste it nothing happens 😟

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

When using Safari, you will need to save the image as a file and then in gmail when composing a message, click on insert photo, and then you can drag a saved picture in. You have the option to make it an attachment or as an inline image.


Copy and Pasting directly into gmail is only possible using Chrome. This is a gmail limitation. I am not recommending Chrome as personally I have had too many issues with it crashing my Macbook Pro. I am now Chrome free.
