Oct 29, 2014 9:18 AM in response to netman_uyby cohen52199,If you go to Setting then cellular you can then disable or enable LTE, and when you disable LTE it will go to 3G.

Oct 29, 2014 4:01 PM in response to divzptby cohen52199,You cant use 2G anymore, I doubt there are anymore 2G towers and you cant only use 4G because if there is no 4G in the area your in then it goes to 3G.

Oct 29, 2014 4:22 PM in response to divzptby Suiren,You cant, because apple disabled this function for specific carriers and enabled it for others.
its about how much lte is integrated in the carriers network...

Oct 30, 2014 1:48 AM in response to husqatifby supersparksteve,I'm on O2 also with the same problem, I need 2G in my house where I get 4 Bars, but only 1 Bar with 3G and dropped calls all the time.
Now I updated my 5 and 6 to 8.1, the 5 now has the options to toggle 2G,3G,4G, but the 6 is exactly as it was before.
When I read the O2 stuff on their web site about the 6, it only mentions 4G, so maybe they do not want anyone with new phones on the 2G

Oct 30, 2014 1:54 AM in response to husqatifby supersparksteve,I have a 5 & 6 iPhone both with the same carrier, on the 8.1 update the 5 now has the ability to have 3G Off, the 6 is still the same with no option.
This makes me believe its down to the phone model 5 and back the toggle will now be available and 5S up not available.

Nov 2, 2014 7:05 AM in response to supersparksteveby ashwin.mani,I had an iPhone 5 and this option was available after iOS 8.1 .After upgrading to iphone 6 plus the same option does not appear. I think there is either no carrier update or apple has not enabled this for the new iPhones. Luckily the battery for the iphone 6 plus is so good that I am not missing this . However on the iphone 5 , my battery used to die out before the end of the day if I was on 3 G.

Nov 2, 2014 5:58 PM in response to divzptby Suiren,Maybe because the iPhone 5 only supports lte on specific networks?
http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
scroll down to the iphone 5 and have a look ....
its pretty simple... the options in the mobile data menu with the lte or 3g switch are different for iphone 5(on most networks) compared to the iphone 5s and 6 because on most networks the iPhone 5 is not able to use lte
