Oct 23, 2014 4:28 PM in response to robAsandersonby thebremner,Firstly I would like to thank Rob again for all of his effort chasing Apple on this issue. I made the original post but Rob has persisted with it, I notice nobody from Apple has commented? Are they able to? Do they ever? When I saw the original note in the release info, I was happy to see that they had finally seen common sense! I used it to save battery life and kept my phone running on 2G unless I needed the faster internet and turned 3G on. If the battery life of our wonderful Apple devices was better we maybe wouldn't have such a need for this!!
Oh well, wishful thinking I guess!

Oct 23, 2014 4:30 PM in response to hawtboiby Navlem,The problem I had was very bad battery life, after 2 months of trial and error, nothing worked until I shut off the LTE icon, My phone kept oscillating from 3G to LTE constantly, still don't know if it was an Apple problem or a problem with my carrier.

Oct 23, 2014 4:41 PM in response to thebremnerby robAsanderson,I don't know if the forum will get a response from Apple or not, you would have hoped so though... I think there should be a button similar to the this helped me one to mark an issue as solved though, obviously on the post containing the solution, that way it highlights the post in green as a solution for others to find easily.
A suggestion from my tech was that we all go to http://www.apple.com/feedback and leave the relevant feedback under iPhone, emhancement request to ensure engineering get the hint it's something we all want.

Oct 24, 2014 3:38 AM in response to robAsandersonby divzpt,Hi!
I don't fully understand words:if you're on a carrier who have launched 4G then tough, you're not getting the new toggles.
What about same carrier and same model iPhone? Why switch presence only on one of them?

Oct 24, 2014 5:40 AM in response to robAsandersonby lensart,I have the same experience as well. I've got a friend with a different iPhone model. We both have 8.1, however his settings provide the ability to choose between several networks types, my 5s only allows me to turn on and off 4G. In addition, although my phone shows availability of a cellular data network, even with 5 dots, it is so slow as to be unusable. This is with Telia in Sweden.

Microdot may refer to:
- Microdot, reduced size text or photographic images
- Microdot (car), a concept hybrid city car designed by William Towns in 1976
- A street name for LSD or PMA in pill form
- Microdot (connector), a series of connectors by Tyco Electronics
- Microdot, a graphic design company founded by Brian Cannon

Oct 25, 2014 7:44 AM in response to thebremnerby divzpt,I don't understand:
What's surprising is that people who are on the 5 have the ability to choose 2g/3g/lte on ios 8.1. Atleast half a dozen people having a 5 I know have this option. No luck with the 5s or 6. Just to be doubly sure, I checked and ensured out that all of them were on the same network.
So, iPhone 4s/5 has switch but other models not.
