Will Ipad air 1 cases fit ipad air 2?

Will Ipad air 1 cases fit ipad air 2?

Since the ipad air 2 is slimmer than the 1, will any of the cases fit properly or do I have to wait for third party cases to be released (don't want to buy the official apple case)?

Width:: 6.6 inches (169.5 mm)
Depth:: 0.24 inch (6.1 mm)

Depth:: 0.29 inch (7.5 mm)

As you can see the iPad Air 2 is thinner so id say its not going to work and you should just get a new case.

true but it's only 1.4 mm, which may not matter. but yeah I guess it's hard to say/case by case basis

Portfolio cases should be fine. It's usually the form fitting silicone or plastic ones that have the least tolerance.

I Can answer this. Absolutely not. I just bought the gold iPad air 2 and the Apple air smart case. It does not fit - even though I was told it would from Apple. The camera doesn't line up as well as the volume control. You must buy an iPad air 2 case for the new iPad Air 2. Apple told me to use the case until my new case arrives. I love the iPad air 2. Arrived today!!!

Otterbox are a responsible company. If they do not state a case will be suitable for an iPad Air 2, it will not be. I have "invested" in a generic cheap case which does fit the iPad 2, while I wait for the quality companies to catch up.

I had IT on my iPad but IT breaks very fast and my iPad fell from the table and he didn't survived it :'(

And I had the iPad Air 2 case but that message what I posted is for people that want to buy that case, and if they come at these forum page they can see that case is sh*t
