Hello,

I have to drag the page up or down so that the link becomes active again. Further the application is very slow. Today I tried iPad Air it was same thing !!!!

I have to keep resetting my network, over and over and over and over.  I have iPad 4 with retina display. If Apple does not fix this soon, I will switch to Samsung Tab S. This is absolutely ridiculous how long this has gone one. I thought Apple was supposed to be so great.

AFter 8.1 update, Safari has periodically been freezing, links often do not respond to tapping on them, and even though I have high speed internet, downloading pages is extremely slow and sometimes Safari just gets stuck during downloading pages.

This is a forum for "users helping other users" ... and it is for implementing a possible solution that you can do yourself. If you wish to talk to Apple, you'll have to do so through the official channels they set up for customers to do that ...

Apple phone support referred me to this page and told me the techs read the posts. They said this was the only way I could give them my feedback.

But, more importantly, I was referring to you not helping about this issue. You're not.

I'Ve been getting points all through this period of time having to do with users' requests for a variety of different issues with iOS 8. Every day I get someone who awards me points for helping them with some aspect of an issue with iOS 8. SO ... I would say that I've been helping a whole heck of a lot more users here with iOS 8 than anything I see you have done ... :-) ...

As with all computer-type electronics with their continual upgrades and additional features and more computing power ... you either resell -or- your devoce becomes non-functuonal at a predictable point in time. So, it's up to you if you want to keep it without selling it, but I can assure you, you are going to arrive at that predictable point in time with your device where you won't be able to use it any longer. It's not right now, but it's coming soon ... and therefore ... you can move on when you have the best sales options at hand, or you can run it into the ground.

LOL ... you must have missed the fact that I updated to iOS 8.0.2 and then to iOS 8.1 ... which were clearly announced bug fixes. And, you must have missed the fact that I said bug fixes were totally common and were always done. And then you must have missed the article I posted about another such update coming ... :-) ...

iOS 8.1.1 Beta Vs iOS 8.1: Performance Test For Older-Gen Devices

Major new releases of iOS tend to bring with them plenty of complaints of poor performance on older devices, and iOS 8 was no different with regard to how it ran on the iPhone 4s and iPad 2. Neither hardware is getting any younger, and with limited hardware at their disposal both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s have been found dwindling in the old speed stakes.

Curiously, Apple has very recently released a beta of iOS 8.1.1 to developers that has an interesting line in the release notes. Specifically mentioning the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s by name, Apple says that iOS 8.1.1 improves performance on those devices which will come as wonderful news to those struggling along with them.

The best course of action to take at this moment is time is to simply upgrade your hardware. Software updates might pump life into older hardware for a short moment of time, but eventually we all know that our aging gadgets will eventually give up on us.

In short, it’s time for an upgrade no matter what. After all, who doesn’t like to own newer gadgets, right?

Tthe terms of use for this forum clearly indicates it's only for "users helping other users" in implementing a solution that they can do themselves. It's written down like that in black and white (so to speak). And, in addition, Apple has given ... itself and on its own official pages ... the way to contact them and to even get FEEDBACK to them. You'll see the Feedback link on the three I gave up above. I'll include them here,

I can only relay to you exactly what Apple OFFICIALY SAYS itself, and that's exactly what they say ...

I have an iPad 2. I use forums a lot, and make long entries. This glitch makes my iPad now basically impossible to use for this. Worse, I have been unable to get any word from anybody at Apple as to whether this will even get fixed, let alone when it mighty happen. I have news for Apple:  Having no complaints department does not equal no complaints. I will not put up with this poor level of costumer service much longer, and soon my username will be backed up by action. There is no way I'll buy another ipad until this gets some sort real solution.

it took an hour and countless  attempts to make this post because of the glitch.

Does anyone know if there is a fix on the way? Or is there a solution I missed here?
