Q: safari iOS 8.1 freeze and slow

Hello,

i have same problems with ios 8.1 with my Ipad3. when the Google search shows me the results, the blue links does not respond when I  tap. Safari was as if frozen. I have to drag the page up or down so that the link becomes active again. Further the application is very slow. Today I tried iPad Air it was same thing !!!!

the problem persists since updating iOS8.0.0. I am very disappointed with Apple.

excuse me for my english, I am french.

It's well known that these kinds of polls "self-select" towards a problem, because all those, no matter how small a minority they are, will GRAVITATE towards complaining about an issue. The ones who are doing okay, are NOT LOOKING for problems ... they are running fine. Therefore a self-selecting poll will gravitate towards users having a problem, and are not representative of anything.

In other words, it's like this "users helping other users" forum ... most people come here not because everything is running all right, but because they are "looking for a solution" for a problem they have ... LOL ... therefore people here have already "self-selected" to being overly representative of "problems".

If you go to a hospital, you're going to find sick people there, except for the staff who take care of the sick people. It's the same with self-selecting polls and forums dedicated towards "problems".

Your funny. Where do you come up with all your crap. Do you work for Apple?

Note that the poll was posted on an Apple (I could call it fanboy) community and I posted back their results. If I wanted to trick the poll I would have put it in a problem resolution community but I decided to put it in the general Apple community with over 100000 fanboys just so you couldn't use the argument you just posted.

Get over youself and stop polluting this thread with your annoying remarks and let the people that are experiencing issues express themselves accordingly.

    Thank you

people who are having an issue with 'Google'....have you tried using BING instead?!? there are still some issues but i'm finding i have very few while using Bing

on another note...PLEASE PLEASE stop polluting threads with bashing and troll comments. take it elsewhere. it does not help solving issues and is getting tiresome.

post a problem..take or leave the advice..try the advice and post if it did or did not help. nothing more needs to be said. i really don't get this need to endlessly crap on others....

Same issues as everybody else on 8.1 . I wiped everything on my 1st gen iPad mini to factory, bugs remain, Safari is annoying to use now. Keyboard lag, apps running slow. Had just submitted a post about if Apple should allow at least A5 devs to go back to ios7 since 8 is too heavy for them to handle and they deleted my post... We want our smooth performance back, if they don't fix it just let us go back to iOS 7! Is that so harmfull for them?

Please be so kind as to attempt to answer these for the users of this forum -

    • What do you think is the reason for the "spinning wait cursor" incessantly spinning in Safari on an iPad running iOS 8.1, whilst Safari on another iPad with identical hardware and Apps running iOS 7.1.2 loads pages double-quick with a few spins of the wait cursor?
    • What do you think is the reason for out-of-the-box hardware exhibiting the same as above?
    • What do you think is the reason that most no-one on this forum has found a real solution?

    Many thanks.

I agree though with your statement that was removed. You are 100% correct in your judgement.

This is a "users helping other users" forum in which one user posts a problem and another user provides a solution to that problem. If that doesn't happen, that's the "end of the story" for this forum, as that's the only purpose for this forum. There is not an additional purpose of discussing Apple, discussing surveys elsewhere, discussing business practices, discussing software decisions, or speculating on the "whys and wherefors" of a situation, or even "telling Apple" something.

If you don't find a solution here, your "official stop" should be Apple Support ...

i am not Star...but have an opinion....

i believe the reason we haven't found a 'solution' is because 8.1 software is buggy! no one but Apple can FIX that...just like they have in the past. it takes time. we all need to have some patience...

Ok, ok, ok... we get what a forum is all about and we've got all the help and support links bookmarked too. What would we have done without you?

Can you stop being the village idiot for a day, and let the rest of us get on with putting the boot into Apple?!

    Thanks.

Since you are obviously not helping. Could you please respect the rest of the people here that have actual problems and let them express their opinions and discontent with Apple?

We know, that in your opinion a forum is no place to complain. Who cares about your opinion, just report us to Apple, maybe it will make them take a look at our issue.

How many of us have to tell you that we heard you and your opinion is not helpful or wanted before you actually give up?

I have no problem with a user stating a request for a tech support solution and another user giving a solution that he can implement himself.

... let them express their opinions and discontent with Apple?

Go to "FEEDBACK" to do that ...

It will happen as long as someone goes "off the reservation" here ... and is outside of the purpose of the forum!

Many users hers here on this forum have gotten their performance back. I've lost count in how many have solved their problem from following one or more of the various solutions offered on this forum. I'm more than happy to give you a solution that may very well solve your problem, if you wish.

As far as Apple having people revert to a prior iOS ... they have actually NEVER done that from the beginning of the iPhone and iOS and they don't even have the infrastructure in place for dealing with the myriad of problems that would be created by doing that. All you have to know about "that" is that Apple moves forward and not backwards, and if there is something that Apple has identified (through you filing a report with Apple Support) Apple will fix that. If it's something just on your device, then you'll have to cure that with your own device, and Apple will also help you with doing that.

Nuf@n I agree with you, leave him alone, but on the last thing he said he's right, if we all (and I mean all) get to Apple through feedback maybe they will listen. I did my part, I think it's the only way to get to them, chat support only says "you can't downgrade". On feedback I just asked to let us go back to iOS7, just for the poor performance.

The problem is we can't tell others, because a post saying "leave feedback" will be deleted just as they did to mine. But it's worth a try. Cheers
