Q: safari iOS 8.1 freeze and slow

Hello,

i have same problems with ios 8.1 with my Ipad3. when the Google search shows me the results, the blue links does not respond when I  tap. Safari was as if frozen. I have to drag the page up or down so that the link becomes active again. Further the application is very slow. Today I tried iPad Air it was same thing !!!!

the problem persists since updating iOS8.0.0. I am very disappointed with Apple.

excuse me for my english, I am french.

Agreed, deal with these unhelpful members by simply ignoring them, so powerful.  Don't waste those valuable key presses and multiple attempts to get your iPad running for more than a few minutes.

Focus on the main issue and the questions that have been raised.  Keep on feeding problems to Apple.

I am having issues with keyboard responding.   Slow inaccurate and clunky feelling.   Autocorrect is nice when it works but not worth the price.   8.1.1 has a lot of work to do.

Yes Leslie, apparently they just ignore, we must keep feeding problems. I made a post on that earlier today.

Like Dreamboy, I also was able to revert to 7.1.2 just in time. I was mortified by the massive usability  problems when I went with the new 8.0; Actually, it wasn't "useable" at all. Virtually nothing worked - basically bricked. The list of issues exhibited by my tablet is, quite simply, too long to print here. Switching back to iOS7 COMPLETELY RESTORED its functionality, proving the problems are operating-system-based. I feel for all those who are stuck with whatever version of 8 they ended up with. I am SO COMPLETELY OUTRAGED by Apple's indifference. I've written them a number of times with no response. They aren't, in any way, acknowledging their guffaw regarding many of the (older) now RUINED devices. I hear nothing in the press, except for that iOS 8 isn't working well for their new flagship phones. I've even written questions to various computer publications; also without results. NO ONE at Apple is paying attention to their previous customers and fans, who are very likely to be permanently turned off of Apple products in the future. And I'm thinking the number of those is turning out to be quite large. How I wish they just would have just put in some sort of effort to alleviate our very serious problems. Anyway, my iPad Mini is still going strong. I was hoping to have a decent version of 8, because the new apps and features available sound enticing. But there's virtually no way I'm trying to upgrade again, after hearing just how many other horror stories there are. Good luck to everyone. Keep posting here, and to Apple directly. Maybe someday they will pay heed, and offer the solutions that we, quite frankly, deserve.

Where do you leave feedback. I sold iPad Air to buy  air 2. All seemed to be working till latest update iOS 8.1  now safari slow to load and on some pages it freezes while I'm using keyboard. Lag on typing also.

    GGlad you liked it!

i see that ST has decided to ignore my other questions - I wonder why that is?

Please be so kind as to attempt to answer these for the users of this forum -

    • What do you think is the reason for the "spinning wait cursor" incessantly spinning in Safari on an iPad running iOS 8.1, whilst Safari on another iPad with identical hardware and Apps running iOS 7.1.2 loads pages double-quick with a few spins of the wait cursor?
    • What do you think is the reason for out-of-the-box hardware exhibiting the same as above?
    • What do you think is the reason that most no-one on this forum has found a real solution?

    Many thanks.

Same thing here. Ipad2 now has a lot of problems, Safari sometimes freezes out of nothing. I have tried many actions, like resetting, hard reboot, but nothing worked. Apple needs to pay strong attention to the consumers' complains. We have options, If the problem is not solved, I can say for sure that my next tablet wont be Apple.

Someone suggested resetting all settings to fix the Safari freezing problem. Since it only played up while typing, I tried reserting the dictionary only and it seems to be working well now. I recommend giving it a try.

i Have noticed a certain troll (yes Star Traveller...rub your hands together with glee...I'm talking about you) still being a massive obnoxious pain. I looked up how to report a troll and worked out why he's so insistent on being a pain. You need rank 2 to report posts like his, and he only annoys level 1 users. You have to ignore him, because that's all you can do until you get enough points to rank up...andI think Star Traveller is painfully aware of that. Don't read his posts...they won't help, they will only make you more frustrated and because Apple have set things up the way they have you have no ability to do anything about him anyway. i expect he'll have some smart response to this, but he should be aware by now I won't be reading it.

AT THIS LINK is where you leave FEEDBACK for Apple ... and certainly leave "feedback" there and STOP doing it here where it doesn't belong!

Those are called hallucinations ... :-) ... that you are having.

You need rank 2 to report posts like his ...

Are you having difficulty reaching that level? All you have to do is simply give people actual and real solutions that they can do themselves, and those people have the power to thank you by awarding you points. In other words when you DO help people, you get points. You might be "reflecting" right now on why you don't have points.

Don't read his posts...they won't help, they will only make you more frustrated and because Apple have set things up the way they have you have no ability to do anything about him anyway.

The people who have read my posts and have gotten solutions to their problems have also come back to thank me for doing so and they have awarded me points. It's your loss if you don't want to listen to all the possible solutions.

I'll give you the link for FEEDBACK to Apple ... BUT actually ... you don't need feedback, you need APPLE SUPPORT, because that's where they will help you with your problems, even if something is out of warranty ... but CERTAINLY Apple will be working with you since you just got a brand new iPad!
