Which one one of the two examples given in the Terms of Use, does that fit into?
"Your Submission should either be a technical support question or a technical support answer."
Apple Support Communities Use Agreement
Seriously, you must have more time on your hands than anyone in the world.
I've been known to post with my iPad while waiting at a red light ... :-) ...
I picture you sitting there in a filthy gross bean bag chair, dirty t-shirt, unshaven, slobbering on yourself eating Cheetos, waiting for each and every response.
Have you thought about making it into a movie?
For real, shut up! No one wants you here anymore, so go away!
I feel so sorry for having to disappoint you so much. I could suggest some counseling services nearby ... :-) ...

Nov 16, 2014 7:51 PM in response to accentaudioby Samsungbuyer,Well said, accent.
I've said this before, but I'll say it again.
Star Traveller is deliberately trolling level 1 users who cannot report his inflammtory posts. He repeatedly breaks forum rules but gets away with it. I respect Apple for respecting his right to free speech so much they'll let him irritate customers who are already frustrated. Just ignore him guys. He's a pest, and a troll, and every time you try to reason with him you will only get more of his flames.
remember that trolls have a right to free speech too, and the chances are very real that it's some 12 year old you're trying to reason with. You'll get nowhere.
How many many level one users can ST leave inflammatory comments with before a moderator will act? The answer is there is no limit, so do what I do: if you see his name on a post skip over it. He isn't helping anyone but himself.

That's odd ... I was just wondering something quite similar ... how many off topic posts you can rack up ... :-) ...

It would be great if we could actually verify this. It might explain why some people have isses and some don't.
This very same type of thing was shown to be the case with the Wall Street Journal app. It caused a lot of people big problems! They were amazed when all problems went away when deleting that app. Now, even though a whole lot of people found out that the WSJ app was the problem, there were a few who didn't find this to be the problem.
SO ... that shows that there can be a VARIETY of issues and that there is not just ONE solution. There is no "magic bullet" for problems in that a person can say that "this one thing is everyone's problem". That means people just have to check it out for themselves, and that's "troubleshooting" ... :-) ...
And what problem one app can have and how it can cause overall problems with the iPad ... you'll find that ANOTHER APP can do the same thing!
I think you're "on to something" here! Good work!

Nov 17, 2014 2:12 AM in response to noremacniaiby noremacniai,For the benefit of those members who've recently joined this thread and are trying to make sense of all of these shenanigans -
This forum is pretty much split between those members who are suffering real issues with Safari under iOS 8.x and those that believe it nothing to do with iOS 8.x
To those newly arrived members I say save yourselves a whole world of pain by not engaging in the conflict, but simply taking yourselves off to your nearest Apple Store and trying previously advised -
"How about this for a "solution"? -
Each and everyone of us go into any Apple Store and "test" Safari on the shop floor iPads and or iPhones running iOS 8.x - If those devices exhibit the same issues we're suffering from, I have and they DO, then have a member of staff, preferably a "Genius", take a look, and ask him/her to fix it right there and then!
That should get their attention!"

Nov 17, 2014 5:08 AM in response to noremacniaiby Robert Martin 1,Sorry. The title of this thead is 'slow and freeze'. There are other issues such as 'copy and paste'. Yes, things were fine before iOS8 for the most part (except all those things that weren't - just do a search for iOS 7 problem, or iOS 6 problem). Some apps do things in an unorthodox way that isn't revealed until Apple changes the OS and takes away whatever the code writers were relying on. These apps can have issues releasing memory, or auditing your movements. I believe that is the case with the FB app, and why I am advocating removing it and rebooting. I know it solved simple cut and paste issues, as well as slowness issues and crashing problems. I still cannot accurately cut and paste a URL from Safari, but text level stuff works again.
On new machines, such as the Air2, problems are minimal or non-existent. My iPhone 6, for instance, has no issues at all with slowness or crashing, and I have detected no copy and paste issues (even with the FB app installed - different code, double the RAM on a 6), where my Mini was a virtual brick. Now my Mini works about 90% better. I am hoping iOS 8.1.1 solves the rest. I believe that it is not just iOS 8, but per usual when OSs evolve, a combination of things that are going to take a while to get worked out - particularly for machines that operate in 512 Meg of RAM.

Nov 17, 2014 5:12 AM in response to Robert Martin 1by noremacniai,Apologies Bob (not Rob)
But this thread started life as "safari iOS 8.1 freeze and slow" and was hijacked by a certain member to encompass all manner of off topic problems.
I stand by my assertion that Apple Store iPad Air 2s exhibit the same slow load, and other issues, in Safari under iOs 8.x, from the simple fact that I've seen it with my own eyes!
I posted a while back that I had suspicions it was related to Apple's "magnanimity" in opening up "Nitro" to third party developers - http://9to5mac.com/2014/06/03/ios-8-webkit-changes-finally-allow-all-apps-to-hav e-the-same-performance-as-safari/
Well, it sure did!
All browsers now run like treacle in a Siberian Gulag!

Nov 17, 2014 5:28 AM in response to noremacniaiby Robert Martin 1,Thanks. I was just out at Apple this weekend looking at iPad Air2. I didn't notice any slowness (as I was experiencing on my Mini with a Roadrunner Broadband Extreme hookup at home). I almost bought the Air 2 there and then because of its seeming incredible speed. Not sure what could be the cause for the difference in your experience from mine. As I said, though, I have my fingers crossed for 8.1.1.
For those of you wondering, Apple DOES pay attention to these threads but does not participate directly. They are aware of when the conversations devolve, as this thread has done, and do police the threads. You will notice a few posts have been taken down.
MY advice - if you don't like the advice someone is giving, state your reasons once and refrain from the personal attacks. They don't help anyone.
Thanks,
Bob

Just because you've piqued my interest! - What held you back from buying the iPad Air 2 "there and then" ?
"if you don't like the advice someone is giving, state your reasons once and refrain from the personal attacks. They don't help anyone."
Eminently sensible and reasonable advice - S.T. are you paying attention?

Nov 17, 2014 5:53 AM in response to noremacniaiby Robert Martin 1,I didn't buy it because of need vs resources. I REALLY like the smaller size of the iPad Mini and am ostensibly happy with it. My new iPhone 6 is like having greased lightning in my pocket. I wanted to see if that extended to the iPad Air 2 and can say that it was my experience that it does.
While deleting Facebook helped, I too am anxiously awaiting 8.1.1 to see what it does. The Mini is nowhere near the machine the iPhone 6 or Air 2 are. So, rather than knee jerk and spend money I'd prefer not to (going into the holidays) I'll take a wait and see approach.
But with the cool new Bamboo fine-line pressure sensitive stylus, a bigger surface is looking more attractive. Maybe I am awaiting the 12" iPad?
