Q: iOS 8.1 : copy and paste still not working normally

Most of the time, copying and pasting between apps give wrong results: when pasting, I get an older version of the clipboard, even after having done 2 factory resets. Does anyone has the same problem? I own an iPad mini first generation.

How do you know thts it's a secure app? Could it be sending keystrokes off to the company, ike passwords and bank card numbers?

I guess we just have to trust it. I don't know if that's checked for by Apple during the approval process.

I've noticed that the button to switch to this keyboard disappears when I'm filling in at least some password fields.

This app will update. (not soon.. maybe a couple weeks later)

I have seen a problem several times where all or part of the main qwerty keyboard becomes invisible. The keys still work, but it's hard to hit the right one, of course. I can swap to the clipboard keyboard, but the main keyboard is still obscured when I return to it.

I think I've only seen this in an app called Newstap, and I think it's triggered by use of the clipboard keyboard, but I'm not sure.

I can restore the keyboard by closing and reopening the app.

This app never send text to anywhere. Use only in the app.

To solve copy and paste as well as other performance issues....

Delete the Facebook app and the Messenger App and reboot your iPad2 or Mini. Voila. No more problems.

I might give this a try although this just a minor annoyance for me.  Wonder if the problem will recur if one reinstalls FB and Messenger after the reboot?

The indication is that they are the problem ... and if this is the case, then yes, if you put them back on again, they will be a problem again. It all hinges on whether they are the problem.

If the Facebook app is on that device, try deleting it and rebooting. While there are still some issues, simply doing that got my iPad Mini back to being usable.

I have tried several solutions posted here, but none worked for me (I have the first gen iPad mini). But some of you think it's related to other applicatications, so I decided to go thru some of my other apps where I copy and paste text. The first one I tried is the Printer Pro app. I cleared its clipboard, closed the app and grabbed a large chunk of text from safari and I was finally successful.

THIS IS A SUPER-GREAT POINT: by using this app, you could be sending information you-have-no-idea-where.

See teruaki onoda's reply above. He developed the app and says the app doesn't send text anywhere.

The problem still exists for me with the new 8.1.1 iOS.  I do not have any Facebook apps installed.

Sorry for being repetitive, but can you please describe how the problem is manifesting itself under 8.1.1?

    thanks,

Something odd worked for me that used to work when I had a camera issue. I held down an app until it jiggled, then tried again. Didn't solve permanently, but will work if you are pressed for time and/or don't feel like turning the phone on and off

For me, the same as it was. If I copy something from FB or YouTube and then copy and paste from Safari (or vice versa) it may take a couple of extra copy/pastes or switching the phone off and on before it behaves as it should. Very irritating.
