Multiple Display Resolution - Samsung S24B300

Prior to upgrading to Yosemite the resolution on my Samsung s24b300 changed. Now I cannot get back to 1920x1080 resolution. It's no longer an option when I go into system preferences --->>> displays.

Current set up:

MBPro 13" (Late 2011) using as closed lid with 2 displays.

1st monitor is Samsung t24c550 - connected via usb and hdmi cable

2nd monitor is Samsung s24b300 - connected direct to mbpro via adaptor and rgb cable.

1st Monitor is at proper resolution, but 2nd monitor does not have the choice in the display menu. Up until last week, both monitors were capable of 1920x1080 resolution and multi display settings were flawless.

Anyone have a fix or know what could have happened.

btw...I reset my PRAM which didn't resolve the issue. Upgrading to Yosemite didn't have an impact either.

Hi TahoeTed,

It sounds like you have been on the right track in troubleshooting this issue. If you are having resolution issues with one of the external displays you are using with your MacBook Pro, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following article helpful. In particular, you may find the portion under the Learn more header near the bottom useful:
