Oct 21, 2014 10:53 PM in response to billcurrie1983by tyfromtexas,I work for Walgreens and I made two transactions today. Came home saw that people are being double charged on the news and sure enough my BOA debit card was charged 4 times instead of twice. Thought it was odd that I had to enter my debit PIN number. I bet that was the problem. Someone needs to figure this out.

Oct 22, 2014 1:03 AM in response to Phosphoby spavlis,★HelpfulI made a purchase tonight at Harris Teeter using Apple Pay using my B of A debit card for the transaction and was also charged twice. It also asked me for my pin and hesitated, but entered it anyway. I also never saw any prompt for debit or credit and nor did the cashier ask me. I did read on the Apple support page here Apple Pay FAQ that they recommend using it as credit. This is what it says:
When I’m paying in a store using my debit card in Apple Pay, should I choose Credit or Debit on the terminal?
When presented with this choice, we recommend you to choose “Credit” to get the most consistent Apple Pay experience. Choosing “Debit” may not always work successfully with some older merchant payment terminals and backend systems.
I would try and tell the cashier next time that I would like to use credit instead of debit. As of now I haven't contacted B of A because they are closed. I will be calling them tomorrow and see what happens. From what I have been reading it seems to be something that's happening with B of A when using your debit card and entering your pin.

Oct 22, 2014 6:42 PM in response to billcurrie1983by spavlis,So after looking at my transaction history today from my B of A account, theres is a credit for the one charges. Seems to me that B of A knows what is going on and are issuing credits for this. I didn't even have to call them about this double charge, actually I didn't even get the chance to call them. I hope this helps and they fix this issue soon. I would still continue to use my debit card as credit until this is resolved or just use my credit card.
