Oct 20, 2014 8:01 PM in response to rock156by pwwwayne,I got this email from AOL (unsolicited); I have not acted on it:
"You may have heard that Apple is releasing a new operating system called X Yosemite. This update is not compatible with the current AOL Desktop application. If you upgrade your Apple operating system, you will experience an unstable AOL Desktop application and will need to access AOL Mail, news and video on AOL.com or the new AOL app.
If you want to continue using your AOL Desktop application and not upgrade, you do not need to take any action right now.
In the meantime, we are working with Apple, while diligently working on new AOL software and will contact you as soon as we have more information.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
The AOL Desktop Team"

Oct 28, 2014 7:39 PM in response to rock156by Matthew L. Smith,AOL is not working diligently on this. The public beta was out for months and they had all that time to get it working. They did not. Don't expect it to work anytime soon.

Jan 5, 2015 2:32 PM in response to Matthew L. Smithby Rod Miller,Matt . . . hoping if I reply to your posting, you'll get an notice and reply. I still can't get an answer to 1) has this conflict been fixed? 2) is the conflict just between AOL Desktop or AOL Mail? If you see this, please reply even if you have no new information. Thanks.

Jan 5, 2015 3:46 PM in response to Lannyby Rod Miller,I understand the format of this discussion site Lanny . . . Matt was the only responder to the original post and other inquiries replies. He also seemed informed. Of course I've contacted AOL and Apple, on the phone, e-mail and in their respective support communities. They point the finger at each other. I was hoping Matt might have more information and he seemed helpful.

Jan 6, 2015 10:04 AM in response to Prousaby Rod Miller,Thanks for the posting. Did you happen to get clarification if the conflict is between AOL Desktop application and Yosemite or AOL Mail and Yosemite Apple Mail? This makes a big difference since I no longer use the AOL Desktop application. I just have Apple Mail interface with AOL Mail. Thanks.
