Q: Question about wifi

After upgrading my macbook pro to Yosemite, my wifi quit working- I get a "hardware not installed" message. I've powered down and all the first check stuff, restarted the router, etc- still nothing. Other devices have no trouble connecting, so it's not the router. Internet works if the machine is directly connected, but I can't travel with that! Please advise.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), Mac OS X (10.0.x), Was working just fine yesterday...

    Hi ..

Might be corrupted network preferences as a result of the upgrade.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following:

    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac then monitor Wi-Fi.

Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.
