Q: iPhone 6 plus rear camera blurry/wobbly (not focusing)

iPhone 6 plus rear camera is not focusing, won't remain stable and is blurry no matter how still I get whether video or picture.  Automatic or manual focus not working either.   Front facing camera works fine.   Seems OIS isn't doing anything but making it worse.

Here is a photo(below) taken while completely still that never focuses automatically or manually and is vibrating vertically as if taken in motion.

Videos become wobbly and out of focus.  Link: https://vid.me/Nxh

Steps I have taken:

1. Closed all apps and forced reboot of phone.

2. Reset all settings.

3. Restored phone to latest 8.1 software and set up as new phone.

Results still the same even if I use 3rd party camera/video app.

Im in the UK and have the same issue. It started after riding my motorbike. I can here the shutter clicking if I hold my phone to my ear. All camera modes reproduce the issue apart from Slow-Mo which is fine.

I tried booking at Genius Bar but there are no appointments. Apple support didn't know of the issue and suggested i try in the morning to get an appointment or just travel to th store and hope they will look at it.

Having exact same issue. Noticed after looking at some pics i took at a concert, every single one came out blurry. Sure enough it doesn't focus any more in broad daylight. Tried a hard reboot to no avail, not gonna waste more time on it, i'll see if i can get a Genius appointment tonight.

Went into apple store today. they was going to replace camera but after trying to connect it to the in store diagnostic wifi the phone took ages to detect wifi. something id not really noticed. so she swapped out the phone.

Cant fault the service. Store was packed and only waited 10 mins (with a booked appointment) Other companies should take note. I can only imagine the pain id have to go through taking something back to PC World or some other pants story. !

I cured this problem by knocking the phone on a flat surface. It seems it's caused by the camera module sticking and if you put the rear camera to your ear, you may be able to hear a clicking noise.

Working perfect now after a few taps on the table.

I had the same issue with my 6 Plus and made an appointment with the local Apple Store.  The tech said that he's seen the same problem before so he just ran the quick diagnostic test, swapped my phone for a new one and re-activated it from my Sprint account.

    So, it's a known issue.

Apple has finally officially acknowledged this. Go here to check if your device is part of the affected batch and then you can take it in for a free repair. if you bought it in an unrelated country, then you are still out of luck.

Guys, my iPhone serial is listed as eligible but I have no issues with the camera. I rarely use the camera though, so could this be why mine is still working? Does this issue only occur for heavy camera users, or it's an issue with the device since day one?

I have the same situation. Do we need to get this isight camera replaced if we are eligible even though we are not having any focus issues?

I'm having the same issue that I never thought it was the phone until this news comes out. I thought it was just me or the low light. now that I pay attention to this detail it really is blurry. I don't know will fixing it be the same as original or will something else will screw up again especially they have many small parts. Maybe it is a perfect time to trade in for the new iPhone 6s Plus.

TThat seems perfectly normal for an iPhone camera. Since they still have horrible megapixel quality and focus since the original 2g iPhone camera lol
