Dec 31, 2014 4:02 AM in response to oneZer01by gaurav2508,Just to keep everyone informed-
I wrote to Tim Cook about my problem and got a call back from his office. They were very help helpful and gave me a patient hearing. Though as per their explanation, they are unable to Service out station phones due to legal regulations with my country.
So I had to look for someone traveling to the US who took my phone with them and got it looked at in the service centre there. I'm happy to report that the Apple store replaced the camera on my phone and all is working fine now.

Dec 31, 2014 10:16 PM in response to oneZer01by GottliebPins,I've had my 6+ for about a month now. I was excited about the large screen and improved camera. I make lots of videos for my YouTube channel. I was using the 4s and was happy with the improvements on the 5s and couldn't wait to see what the 6+ could do. Well after taking two videos on a nice sunny day I have to say the video quality of the 6+ is terrible! I take videos of trains from different angles and locations and edit them together. Usually I have two iPhones, sometimes more if I want more angles. The 4s does a decent job but the 6+ looks like it was taken under water. The video distorts and ripples like a funhouse mirror. Totally useless. Just the sound of the engine approaching is enough to send it into a tizzy. I used to notice once in a while on my 4s if I was too close it would have a hard time focusing on the moving train so I set my tripod back as far as I can. Today I shot both iphones from the same distance and relative angle and the 4s did fine. The 6+ pure crap. I am so disappointed. I am considering selling my 6 and getting a gopro camera. I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue. Both phones are on 8.1. But I can't use it. I downloaded a 3rd party app that supposedly lets you manually focus the lens. I will try that. I remember back in the prehistoric era of VHS I had to sometimes manually focus or it would go all wobbly. I guess things haven't improved in 20 years. I'm glad to hear that some people have been able to fix their issue by replacing their camera. I am an iOS developer and have apps in the App Store and one of the guys at work had problems with his Mac Book Pro and had to write to Cook to get the local Apple Store to service it. The screen started cracking on its own. It wasn't set properly. The store claimed he did it. Apple contacted the store and they had a replacement ready in two hours.

Dec 31, 2014 10:55 PM in response to GottliebPinsby ToastyFlake,Have you thought about taking it in to Apple to see if there's anything wrong with it? It is still under warranty.

Jan 6, 2015 6:27 PM in response to gaurav2508by hallpa,I had the same problem with my iPhone 6 Plus. It's been replaced once but the new phone developed the same problem. Apple have confirmed that it is a firmware issue that has been addressed by IOS 8.1.2. I can confirm that after I updated to IOS 8.1.2 this morning the wobbly camera problem disappeared

Jan 8, 2015 12:55 AM in response to hallpaby oneZer01,Its a hardware issue, not software, it will eventually do this again. Only fix is to replace camera or phone.

Jan 10, 2015 12:05 AM in response to oneZer01by yoa123,I've also experienced the same problem with my 64GB 6 Plus. The camera worked perfectly up until late December.
Sent my phone in last week to my service provider. They said it would take 8-15 days to fix it. If they could not fix it they would give a new phone.

Jan 11, 2015 9:25 AM in response to oneZer01by Joe Guillian,Same issue here with an iPhone 6 plus. My autofocus is working when taking picture from anything close from the phone but then the autofocus is not working anymore if I take a picture of something farthest.
Also I noticed a kind of small "point" of light such a reflect of the light when I've any lights in front of my screen and then once the picture is taken we can see it on the picture... Annoying.
I've an appointment on with the closest Apple Store and will see which kind of fix or replacement will be offered by the Genius Bar.

Jan 13, 2015 6:42 AM in response to oneZer01by fred570,Hi People.
I have the same problem. My Iphone 6 plus, 128 gigas suddenly stop focusing and the camera is not working right.
I live in a country where doesn't have an apple store so my only hope would be that this is a bug that can be fixed with an update of the ios.
It´s incredible that an almost usd 1000 phone, top of the line, has this problem.

Jan 13, 2015 7:41 AM in response to oneZer01by AlanJL,I did not have a problem with the image being "wavy" as some other users have reported. My problem was much less severe, the camera simply would not focus. It seemed to be stuck focused at a certain point and no matter what would not move. Since I bought my phone from a Verizon store, I decided to go back there first instead of to the Apple store which actually turned out to be a good move. They promptly exchanged it for a brand new one with no arguments. It is a bit disappointing that an $850 phone would have a problem like this though.
Just a word of warning to others having this problem; You should not put off addressing the issue, otherwise you may end up getting a refurb.

Jan 14, 2015 2:03 AM in response to oneZer01by yoa123,After 12 days of waiting my cellphone provider replaced my phone with a brand new one. Very happy with the service and the camera seems to be working just fine.

Jan 16, 2015 2:10 PM in response to Joe Guillianby Joe Guillian,Got a replacement after having set an appointment to the Genius Bar. Refused the first two iphone 6 plus units because the screens was showing a kind of shadow on the top of the screen which was nothing related to my camera issue but my aim wasn't to go with any additional issues like this. Finally the third unit was very good and I kept it: very good screen (whiter than my initial iPhone 6 plus with a blueish/cool tint as I like) and the most important think: the autofocus works!
Thanks to the Genius Bar that offered a very good support!

Feb 27, 2015 7:23 AM in response to yoa123by awa611,Same here. One of our iPhone 6 Plus users in the company just reported the problem after having the phone since October 2014 and the cell phone provider is shipping a new phone over the weekend. As long as the phone is under warranty and you got it through a cell phone carrier, they'll replace it and deal with Apple for you. Judging from some of the comments on this thread, I'm glad I didn't have to contact Apple directly.

Mar 2, 2015 7:02 PM in response to awa611by EmiFox,Same issue here with my 6+ 128. Looking back, last "normal" photo was 12/27/14 and first blurry one was 1/12/15. Called Apple, they had me try it in slo-mo and video - also blurry. Then they had me do a full restore. Still blurry. I have an appointment at the Apple Store. Really hoping I can get camera replaced or a new phone. I have taken very good care of my phone and don't want a refurb.

Mar 4, 2015 6:24 AM in response to oneZer01by WaggaWagga,I had the same issue as many people here. I have had my 6Plus for about 3 months and the rear camera quit focusing. It became stuck at focused on about 6-8 inches out. After an online chat with Apple Support (restarting the phone, restoring from a backup, etc), they set up an Apple Genius Bar appt for me. At the appointment, Apple quickly decided that it was a hardware problem and replaced the camera in my phone (not the entire phone). Clearly Apple knows about this concern if they are stocking cameras and instructing their people to replace just the cameras and not entire phones. Either way - in true Apple fashion they quickly identified the issue, took my phone from me to repair, promised it back to me within one hour, and held to their word. It now works properly again. I don't appreciate having to have it fixed, but as usual - Apple took care of the issue quickly and for free.
