Slow PDF Viewing in Yosemite

Hello,

Since Yosemite Beta, Safari makes viewing PDF very slow. I don't have the problem if I download the PDF and use Preview app.

I have a rMBP late 2013 i7 16GB. It's even slow when having a few pages open. Firefox doesn't have this problem.

Also it seems that randomly Safari starts to use the discrete graphics.

This is very very very annoying.

Any ideas? Or we have to wait Apple to fix this ****.. they must be pretty idle knowing how the "new" ipad is the same as before.

I actually have the problem with Preview. It uses an entire CPU and makes PDF viewing unworkable.

Tired of all this ****.... Mac OSX is supposed to be tried because it's made for a limited hardware. Now...

PDF! The universal document format is not working properly since Yosemite... well I remember having troubles before too but they were solved by using Preview instead of Adobe Reader.

I'm also about to sell my Apple TV because it go unusable after installing Yosemite. Trying the beta 10.10.1 and it's the same.. if it's sunny it works.. God knows.

TIRED!

Same to me on a 2010 MBP 13'. There are various reports about the new preview.app, as it seems to be by far less smart than its precursor.

The reports include poor resolution of pdfs, slow response to commands and, which is my nightmare, the removal of the yellow auto-adjustment bars for text fields, arrows etc.

My solution: Use preview.app version 7 (current is 8). You can get this by copy&pasting it from a backup of Mavericks or earlier versions out of the applications folder. It will not be possible to replace the app in the applications folder of Yosemite, but it can be put into documents or elsewhere, the two versions can co-exist without problems in my experience.

If you do not have a backup to use, there are several versions available for downloading within the community, just search around. I would upload my old one, but I guess a german version will not help. If you need it though, let me know.

Hope that helps you!
