Q: Moving a application window half on both monitors, one half of the window disappears.

Using OS X Yosemite 10.10 on a mac mini late 2012.

I have two monitors.

I am not able to place a application window partly on both monitors.

When i am moving an application beyond the boarder of my monitor and it appears partly on the other monitor (you see the application windows then half left, half right) and i release the mouse button, one part of the application windows disappears.

My expectation was that the application windows will be displayed half on the one and half on the left monitor.

Is this a bug, or is this a feature and i can change this behave?

Hello antipoke,

That could be because of the setup for Spaces on your Mac. Go to System Preferences > Mission Control and deselect Displays have separate Spaces and that should make it to where you can span an applications across multiple displays. This was a feature introduced in OS X Mavericks and the article below has a small section on that.
