ios 8.1 installation issues

Hi, I've been trying to update my IPhone 5 all day to iOS 8.1.

Like many people I have been told to connect my phone to ITunes which I have done.

However, even when I try and restore the phone, it tells me iTunes update server could not be contacted.

Which I never tried to update now! Any help guys??
