Jul 14, 2015 7:14 AM in response to james woolfordby Skyjor123,I Don't think this is a practical, nor a reliable one. it might happen again. I will wait some additional days if the problem persist. I will follow your advice and try it. But thanks anyway.

Jul 15, 2015 6:33 AM in response to jasonfromwest new yorkby james woolford,ok, Apple helped me by phone. Ensure ONLY "Icloud Photo Library" is checked on all devices, not streaming or sharing. That fixed it.

Jul 15, 2015 10:29 AM in response to james woolfordby pierrefrommontréal,That's an interesting tIp.
When we turn off photo sharing, do we lose all the pictures that were shared? What happens to those who are sharing our pictures? And did Apple give you any advice about what will happen if you try to turn sharing on again?

Jul 24, 2015 12:27 AM in response to james woolfordby iCoco,Turning off sharing and streaming seems a rather odd suggestion by Apple, because why would they offer it at all then if this is causing issues?
Anyway, in this discussion it's suggested that the cause for iCloud Library Sync getting stuck might have to do with edited pictures. Maybe third party editing extensions. In my case that seems to be an obvious explanation, too. Maybe an other area to have a closer look.

That would be the nature of Beta software.

Aug 10, 2015 12:12 PM in response to jasonfromwest new yorkby Frances54,So is the solution to turn off Photo Library and go back the My Photo Stream? I am not trying to do anything fancy, just get a photo taken with my iPhone 5s to show up on my iPad air2. When i try to upload photos on my phone I get a message telling me to login to iCloud. when i try to do that i get a message telling me to enter my Apple ID. then i get a message telling me my id is wrong when it is the same one I have been using for a year. It is terrible that there are 12 pages to this thread and no answer yet.

Aug 20, 2015 12:33 AM in response to jasonfromwest new yorkby splurben,I been through this over and over again.
I have Apple support and I've called and been told:
- "We're having problems with the authentication system because your Apple ID is very old and has become corrupted. We can fix it if you factory reset and restore your iPhone 6 Plus." — I have reset the phone three times after confirming that Apple has 'repaired' my Apple ID authentication. Every time it takes days (I have 80GB of photos) to re-sync the photos, but once I start taking new photos, it always hangs on "21 Photos to Upload" or "9 Photos to Upload" or "190 Photos to Upload" and the progress bar at the top. After a few days it seems to get past it, but quite often I need to access my photos soon after taking them.
- THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED.
- THE IPHONE 6 PLUS IS PLUGGED INTO POWER.
- THE IPHONE 6 PLUS IS CONNECTED TO WIFI.
- THE WIFI IS TESTED FUNCTIONING AT PEAK EFFICIENCY.
- THE IPHONE HAS BEEN RECENTLY POWER CYCLED.
- The Photos Library has been repaired on my MacBook Pro.
- THE IPHONE 6 PLUS HAS BEEN FACTORY RESET THREE TIMES (REQUIRING 100GB OF DOWNLOAD FOR EACH FACTORY RESET AND THREE DAYS TO RE-SYNC THE ICLOUD PHOTOS LIBRARY which is a huge pain in the ***.)
Let's just say that Apple has a lot of work to do on the iCloud Photo Library, at least for those of us with high capacity devices, large photo libraries and the desire to actually access new photos taken with our iOS devices.

Aug 20, 2015 12:37 AM in response to splurbenby splurben,I have just completed latest iOS update to 8.4.1 and the problem is definitely still there and definitely still preventing me from using my phone as a camera.

Aug 20, 2015 1:10 AM in response to Selwhyby splurben,Reset my device three times now. Sometimes it works for a little while after that, and then "3894 Photos to Upload" even after it said it was finished the day before and I've left the iPhone plugged in, with plenty of free storage space, unlocked, and connected to verified peak-performance WIFI.
