Safari DNS problem in Yosemite? Works, then slow death...

Tried it. No change at all. Chrome works perfectly, Safari doesn't. It's so frustrating, as I have to use Safari for it syncs my bookmarks and passwords and often I end up wasting ages to switch browser back and forth... It makes my 70/20 MBps connection wasted money when it comes to web browsing 😟

guys, I almost did everything on this post, meanwhile cyvi937, dec 7, solved my problem. I wanted to let you know and canceling reading this post from chrome....

In addition to the 1400 MTU change I too did the suggestion from December 7th for good measure and so far so good. The fact that we all had to do this and others are still having issues, indicates there's still an issue under the good with Yosemite but I'm glad all is well for now. Really hoping this issue does not return.

The ipv6 configuration change to link-local only did it for me. Dramatic restoration of pre-Yosemite browser performance. Other tips (e.g. changing DNS settings) had failed to solve the problem. Thanks.

Pleased to report that since a Safari upgrade to 7.1.2 a week or so ago that all appears to be in order

The IPv6 disable fixed my problem, I had slow DNS in all browsers. Youtube / google/ facebook were unload-able most days.

Disabled the IPv6 and had a completely different machine!

Tried all the previous mentioned tricks, but no joy - couldn't get Safari/FireFox/App Store to work and Adium was stuck and had to force quit. Read a post about how Adium would hang if Bonjour was enabled. Restart Adium with Shift held down, unselect Bonjour. Did a restart and now everything works great!

I know it doesn't make sense, but I've flipped Bonjour on and off and that seems to be the culprit for me!

Unfortunately, I just started having this problem several days ago and experience the same issues with both Safari and Chrome. I use my iPhone hotspot to connect to the net. Don't know how to solve the problem. Someone help!

I also had very similar problems lately with Safari. I have tried the trick with setting the ipv6 and after a shutdown/restart now it appears to be working... fingers remain to be crossed for awhile, though... Thanks for the tip!
