Q: Formatting
I am attempting to combine footage from my video camera and my iPhone into one FCE project. The formats do not match so I attempted to re-format the iPhone footage using Mpeg Streamclip to match the format of the video camera. I cannot seem to get exactly the same format, and re-rendering is a problem.
These are the properties from the video camera footage:
And the converted iPhone footage using Mpeg Streamclip:
As you can see the Data and Audio Rates do not match. Mpeg Streamclip does not offer an option to change those rates when I convert.
What am I doing wrong?

You can set the audio properties in MPEG Streamclip to Uncompressed 48khz, which is what you want:
But you have other problems. Look at the Frame Size of your clips. One is 1920x1080 which is a standard size, the other is 1080x1920 which is non-standard (I'm guessing that is the iPhone shooting vertically). FCE is only meant to work with standard sized material, which for HD is 1920x1080, 1440x1080 (HDV), 1280x720, or Standard Def material.
The variance in the Data rate should not impact your ability to edit, but a higher data rate is (usually) associated with higher quality material, since there is less compression applied.
