Apple Pay transaction fails using Groupon app

I've tried several times to purchase a Groupon using the Groupon app and Apple Pay. I've tried three different cards (a Chase credit card, a Chase debit card, and an American Express card), all fail. The Apple Pay setup for the cards was successful, but the payments fail in Groupon within a few minutes.

F.R., I got a nonsense reply from Groupon as well. Had nothing to do with ApplePay. I told them they should be embarrassed sending me a reply like that.. Anyway, I was able to solve my issue on my own. Not sure if you have the same issue or not. What I found is that Groupon didn't like the zip+4 format Zip Codes in my shipping and billing addresses. I went into my Passbook & ApplePay settings and created new addresses for my home shipping and billing addresses with a 5 digit zip code only and I was able to successfully purchase a Groupon via the iOS app using ApplePay. 🙂 Hope this helps you too.

I had this same experience - after re-entering my two addresses (billing/shipping) Groupon functioned. They have some work to do on their end. Their support is awful - I had the same experience as others - getting responses completely unrelated to the problem. At any rate - to anyone else with this problem. Try re-entering your address info - they seem to expect it in a very exacting way.
