Oct 21, 2014 8:26 PM in response to asimexicoby smithoseen,Yup, you'll find a lot of strange behavior with iWeb on Yosemite unfortunately. iWeb is over 5 years old, so it's only going to get worse I think.
I'm working on getting my last sites switched over from iWeb to EverWeb.

Oct 22, 2014 8:29 AM in response to asimexicoby Old Toad,What version of iWeb are you using and how hare you adding the text box or shape? I can add both either with the buttons at the bottom or via the Insert menu. Try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
If you're running Mavericks or Yosemite go to your Home folder and use the View âž™ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

- move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
- launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
- go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
- move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
- launch iWeb and try again.
