Brother Scanner No Longer Works

Brother scanner on MFC-9325CW and MFC-8690DW are no longer working after upgrade to Yosemite. Just a blank dialog box. Brother support says, "MAC OSX 10.10 has been released, but we here at Brother are still in the process of developing drivers for this operating system. We cannot begin developing drivers until the full version of the OS has been released, so we should have these drivers within the next few weeks." ... "However, you are able to contact Apple to see if they have built in drivers available."

Does anyone know if there is an alternative driver or a different solution while Brother gets its act together?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.10), lenovo x60

I should point out that Apple only ships Brother drivers designed and built by Brother. This is done as a convince for Apple customers, so they don't have to dig around the Brother web site looking for the latest drivers. The Brother support engineer is confused, but rest assured, the Apple engineering team is in direct contact with the brother engineering team regarding their drivers…regardless of how they are distributed.
