Q: Will iWeb 3.0.4 running on Maverick run perfectly on Yosemite

I am sure there are a lot of iWeb fans out there who want positive proof that iWeb can work on this new upgrade. I am using the community as Apple fail to understand that there customers still use the excellent but old iWeb. When they upgrade they do not tell users anywhere on their site weather iWeb is still compatible or not !

Hence, I am worried that iWeb will not work properly if I upgrade, as it has been unsupported for a while now, shame really. I have a number of simple  looking sites that I regularly maintain and will be lost without iWeb.

My 2008 iMac RAM was upgraded to use Maverick OS X, and is fully up to date with Apple updates. Can anyone answer my query or provide a APPLE site link confirming iWeb can be still be used.

Many thanks

Mac OS X (10.7.3), iWeb 09

Well, no of course Apple will not tell you if iWeb is compatible or not because it has been unsupported for over 2 years now and is no longer sold by Apple.

If you have simple sites, then perhaps now is the time to move them to new software that will work and run on Yosemite - take a look at EverWeb.  If you have small sites, then it won't take you very long to transfer them to EverWeb.

Time to move on from iWeb.

There is no Apple link, so you may have to keep one computer not upgraded to Yosemite if you insist on continuing to use iWeb.  Other have no moved on, so perhaps it is time for you to do the same!

Also, please get your gramme correct - "Apple fail to understand that there customers".  This is incorrect - it should be - "fail to understand their customers".  The customers belong to Apple, so it is THEIR and NOT THERE - which actually is used to mean a place that you are.  "I am there".

Event though iWeb works fine with Yosemite this would be a good time to move on to a more modern, supported website developer application that has more all of the features that we had wished iWeb had for the last several years.

If you're looking for one that's similar to iWeb in its GUI  and operation give Everweb a try.  For other potential replacement apps do a search of the iWeb community for "iWeb replacement" or "iWeb alternative" to get many topics where these other apps are discussed.
