Image capture won't save last used settings. Folder destination , scan name. Any way to fix that? It worked fine with Mavericks.. Not anymore...

Folder destination , scan name. Any way to fix that? It worked fine with Mavericks.. Not anymore...

Every time I open it I have to redirect and change all settings. I scan and save a lot of documents as PDF files and want them to goto the same destination folder and use the same file name. I just change the file name number. 001, 002, 003, and so on. It worked perfectly with Mavericks but not with Yosemite. The only thing that stays the same is using the ADF and not the flatbed. It always started with the flatbed (Which I never use) in mavericks. which was no big deal.

Anyone???

Thank you

BTW... I have gone through the settings of image capture and no where is any options for that.

I'm having the same problem and it is only since I upgraded to Yosemite (10.10.2).

Frankly, this is crap and the fact that it has been talked about for so long on this site without any response from Apple is a disgrace.

I switched to Apple a while ago because their software worked and there weren't a lot of these "undocumented features".

They are getting more and more like Microsoft was (and I think Microsoft is actually improving).

Hopeless!!!

I admire your loyalty but the blunt message to Apple should be that having a core piece of software with less functionality than it's predecessor is unacceptable. The same situation applies to Pages 5.5.2 over the earlier version.

How can these dobos expect loyal users to remain loyal if they continue to serve up this sort of crap. It's not hard for the developer to compare the functionality of the older version with the new one. If they cannot support at least the same functionality it really calls into question their entire OS design as well as their commitment to quality software.

I actually found a perfect way to solve this problem. This works with my Epson WorkForce WF-3640 printer. Go into your System Preferences, then go into "Printers & Scanners", then choose your printer on the left. On the right, choose "Scan", and then click "Open Scanner...". A printer app will launch-- keep this printer app in your dock so you can easily get to it in the future!! Then click on the "Scan" button in the upper right of the printer app. You will see a scanning interface that is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the Image Capture app, except it has one major difference: IT WILL SAVE ALL OF YOUR CHANGES! 🙂

Same result here: I found the printer app, but the location still NOT saved. That's quite a BIG bug.

I used the little magnifying glass icon from the annoying little box containing the list of scan files. Usually, it's useless — always in front of the scan window, showing files already visibles (I save them into the Desktop folder) — but since the location is not saved, it provide an simple way to reach the files lost in the Pictures folder, if I forgot to change the location before scanning.
